Autograph Letter Signed, "Moro[?]," to "My [female] friend," in Italian, thanking for photographs and for La Scala news, expressing sympathy for the disappointment endured by Rosina [Galli?], sharing reviews of his performances in Germany, congratulating her on the contract, giving travel plans, and sending a kiss. 2 pages, 4to, "Hotel Knickerbocker" stationery, second page written vertically on verso; complete separations and short closed edge tears repaired by silking overall verso. "Thank you so much for the two photographs . . . . I will keep them among my precious possessions, hoping to be able to meet once again the original, which I find much better than the photographs.

"We went to Germany and it was a complete triumph. They say that in this opera, I really reached the zenith. Modesty aside, I can tell you that in the last act I brought everyone to tears.

Caruso ended his 1909 tour of Germany in Berlin, performing in Pagliacci, Bohème, and Aida on October 20, 22, and 24.
